Motorola seems to be gearing up to expand its budget-friendly G-series lineup, and the upcoming Moto g36 has now entered the spotlight. The device has been spotted on China’s TENAA certification website, revealing both its design and key specifications.
Moto g36 Design – Bigger Camera Module & Vegan Leather Back
The Moto g36 is making headlines thanks to a notable design shift compared to its predecessor, the Moto g35. According to tipster Anvin (@ZionsAnvin on X), the new budget smartphone flaunts a larger camera module housing more lenses than before.
Just like recent Motorola phones, the Moto g36 is expected to feature a Pantone-validated vegan leather back panel, giving it a more premium feel. Certification images also suggest a slightly elevated power button, which could hint at improved ergonomics.
Moto g36 Specifications – Massive 7,000mAh Battery
One of the most exciting upgrades could be in the battery department. The TENAA listing suggests that Motorola may bring a massive 7,000mAh battery to the Moto g36, making it one of the biggest in its class. This explains the 8.7mm thickness and 210g weight, which are notably higher than the Moto g35’s 7.79mm and 185g.

The smartphone is also expected to sport the same 6.72-inch 1.5K LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth visuals. Under the hood, the Moto g36 may be powered by a chipset clocked at 2.4GHz, though Motorola has not yet confirmed the exact processor.
RAM, Storage, and Camera Upgrades
The TENAA certification lists configurations of up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, though these seem unlikely for a budget device. More realistic variants could include 4GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB models.
In terms of optics, the rear camera setup appears similar to the Moto g35 with a 50MP primary sensor and 8MP ultrawide lens. However, the front camera has received a big upgrade—jumping from 16MP on the Moto g35 to 32MP on the Moto g36, making it a much better choice for selfies and video calls.
What’s Next?
The Moto g36 joins the list of upcoming Motorola budget devices, alongside the recently surfaced Moto G 2026 and Moto G Play 2026. While the launch date is still under wraps, we can expect more teasers and official details from Motorola in the coming weeks.
With its huge battery, upgraded selfie camera, and refined design, the Moto g36 could be one of Motorola’s most attractive budget phones yet.
