The upcoming Vivo X300 series is one of the most awaited flagship launches of 2025, and Vivo has now confirmed some major camera upgrades for the top-end Vivo X300 Pro. The brand is positioning this device as a professional-grade smartphone for both photography and videography, with features that could rival dedicated cameras.

Vivo X300 Pro Camera Upgrades: Sony LYT-828 and Hybrid Frame-HDR

Vivo revealed on Weibo that the X300 Pro will debut with a 50MP Sony LYT-828 primary camera sensor. This is paired with the company’s proprietary Hybrid Frame-HDR technology, which promises over 100 dB HDR for sharper highlights, deeper shadows, and a more dynamic visual experience.

The smartphone will also feature gimbal-level anti-shake stabilisation, ensuring crystal-clear shots even in challenging conditions. To add to that, Vivo is introducing 120 FPS dual-track EIS stabilisation for smoother handheld video recording.

Cinematic Video with Dolby Vision and MediaTek Imagiq

Vivo is collaborating with MediaTek to integrate Imagiq’s video pipeline bottom-layer reconstruction, enabling advanced video processing. Creators will be particularly excited about the multi-focal length Dolby Vision video recording support, including:

  • Dolby Vision 4K at 120FPS cinematic slow motion
  • 4K Movie Portrait mode
  • 4K 60FPS 10-bit log video across all focal lengths

The phone also supports Dolby Vision 4K @120FPS video editing in CapCut, allowing users to shoot and edit professional-grade content directly on the device without needing a computer.

200MP Periscope Telephoto Sensor for Zoom Photography

Alongside the Sony sensor, Vivo confirmed that the X300 Pro will feature a custom-made 200MP Samsung HPB “Thanos” periscope telephoto sensor. This powerful setup will deliver incredible zoom capabilities while maintaining detail and clarity.
