Samsung is finally picking up the pace with its One UI updates. After a slow start with One UI 7, the rollout has now reached dozens of Galaxy devices in just a month. The company expects to finish the rollout soon, but it’s already looking ahead to the next big release One UI 8, based on Android 16.
According to recent reports, Samsung could launch the One UI 8 beta program as early as this month. However, not every Galaxy phone or tablet will make the cut for this major upgrade. Below, we’ve compiled a list of devices that are unlikely to receive the One UI 8 update.

Samsung Galaxy Devices Not Eligible for One UI 8
Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed the list yet, but based on its software update policy and past rollouts, here are the Galaxy devices that are expected to stop at One UI 7:
Galaxy S series
- Galaxy S21
- Galaxy S21+
- Galaxy S21 Ultra
Galaxy Z series
- Galaxy Z Fold 3
- Galaxy Z Flip 3
Galaxy Tab series
- Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022)
- Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro
Galaxy A series
- Galaxy A14
- Galaxy A14 5G
Galaxy M series
- Galaxy M33
- Galaxy M14
- Galaxy M14 5G
Galaxy F series
- Galaxy F14 5G
Note: These devices have received or are set to receive One UI 7, but they are unlikely to move on to One UI 8 unless Samsung decides to offer an extra surprise update.
When Will Samsung Release One UI 8?
While Samsung hasn’t officially shared details yet, leaks suggest that One UI 8 beta testing may kick off later this month for select flagship devices. Other brands like Xiaomi, OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, and Realme have already rolled out Android 16 beta builds, so Samsung may be slightly behind on beta availability.
The stable version of One UI 8 is expected to debut alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 in the second half of 2025. Since Google is set to release Android 16 by June, Samsung could start rolling out as early as July or August 2025.
Why One UI 8 Could Arrive Faster Than One UI 7

Unlike last year, Samsung seems determined to speed things up. Two key reasons are driving this:
- Google’s earlier-than-usual release of Android 16.
- Samsung’s ongoing efforts to improve its update schedule, bringing faster rollouts across more Galaxy devices.
If this pace continues, Galaxy users could be enjoying One UI 8’s new features much sooner than expected.
